We’ve reached the end of a tough year, and to celebrate we are putting together a new and innovative first-of-its-kind event that is sure to be one to remember.  This is an exclusive, invitation-only event to control the numbers due to Covid-19 regulations. The event was originally designed as a fun event for our current pool of athletes (to keep numbers low) that we are working with, but the great news is that due to some not being able to attend we are in a position to extend this invitation to some of our athletes that we have enjoyed working with in recent times, be it privately or at our clinics. We have a capacity for only 24 runners (6 teams of 4) between the ages of 7-18, of which there are only a handful of slots left. If you would like your child to attend, best enter soonest to avoid disappointment. Strict social distancing protocols will be in place.

The Event:

• Date: Saturday 5th December

• Time: 9am-10am

• Venue: Rustenburg Girls High School

• Cost: R200 per athlete

 

Event Format:

• Prologue: 500m Team Time Trial – Teams start together with their team mates, and run together. Time is taken on the 4th runner of each team crossing the finish line.

• 10min Break

• Main Race: 4x 1,6km relay

• All races take place on a cross country-type course

 

Team Composition:

• All teams will consist of 4 runners between the ages of 7-18yrs.

• We will allocate all athletes to respective teams and send out teams in the week preceding the event.

• Teams will be a evenly stacked as possible. Ability and age will be taken into consideration when we select teams.

 

Entering the Event:

• As this unique event is by invite only and in very challenging times relating to organizing an event of this nature, we will need to cut off responses well in advance of the event.

• Parents will be given until Sunday 22nd November to confirm the participation of their child by each filling out the very simple entry form below. This gives us time to finalize teams and plan accordingly with all the Covid protocols to ensure a safe event.
